Networking for a Cause is proud to be one of the only non-profit organizations in the country to have taken the "100% of Proceeds Pledge," where we utilize 100% of the donations we receive for the causes we support.
When donating money, it’s important to know how much of that money actually goes to the recipients and how much gets spent on CEO/Director salaries and administrative costs for the organization. It is not uncommon to see organizations spending way too much on themselves and not enough on the causes they are supposed to be supporting.
Some red flags to look out for include terminology such as 100% of Profits, 100% of Net Proceeds, A Portion of Proceeds, and A Portion of Profits. What these terms mean is that your monies are not going directly to the cause you wish to support. The only term that has any meaning in the charitable world is 100% of Proceeds.
Since day one, the Networking for a Cause fundraisers have operated with $0 overhead and have donated 100% of Proceeds to the causes we support. Any administrative costs are either donated by our volunteers and supporters or paid directly by Michael Hanley so that 100% of donations can go directly to the children of Angela’s House and the pets living at the local Animal Shelters and Rescue Groups we support.
In 2017, we coined the “100% Proceeds Pledge” where we are asking other charitable organizations to stand with us in our commitment to ensure that 100% of donations received go directly to the causes they support. Any organizations that are interested in taking this pledge and receiving our 100% Proceeds Pledge Badge to proudly display on their website should reach out to us for more information.
